6:56PM - Sorry for being gone for a bit

I haven't had computer access this week until now. We had our baby, Elora on the 3rd of October.

I understand Lorwyn is now out?? Not sure. I know there events going on at the Tower and I'm no longer sure about events at the WarRoom as Brazen66 no longer does the MTG there. Him being a new dad and all, there isn't time in the day.

He is going to be playing at the Tower on Friday for anyone who wants to join him!

10:11PM - We had a fabulous 10th Edition release!

I want to say thanks to everyone who came out to support the WarRoom this weekend and MTG 10th Edition. We ran learn to play workshops on Saturday, pack wars, a draft on Friday night after FNM, and the sealed deck tournament today was sold out! What a wonderful weekend.

In two weeks from today on Sunday, we'll be holding a 10th Edition draft. Sign ups are going to start at 12 noon and the draft starts at 1pm or as soon as 8 people sign up. We still have some Foil Promo Reya Dawnbringer so give out as prizes! If you missed out on getting one this weekend, come to the draft at the WarRoom to possibly win one.

More details to come very soon!

6:46PM - 10th Edition weekend!

10th Edition is released this weekend and it looks wicked!

On Saturday we'll be having lots of stuff going on at the WarRoom for the release. There'll be a "learn to play" workshop for anyone who doesn't know how to play MTG and would like to learn. Pack Wars also (if you've never done a pack war, they are so much fun), prizes will be given away, etc. On Sunday at the WarRoom, there is a sealed deck tournament. Just click on the link to the WarRoom above for the site and to get more info.

Also The Tower comics and games in Lawrenceville is having an all gaming weekend for the release of 10th. Andrew will simply not close all weekend. There'll be food and prizes.

12:50PM

We badly need at least 6 of Leylines of the Void. I'm checking some local stores. *sigh* They are for some decks for Regoinals (not my deck, thank the Gods) so Ebay is out.

Any one wishing to trade or sell?

12:37PM - I'm such a weirdo..

I totally forgot the block draft for future sight happening at the WarRoom on Sunday! It's a great way to pick up some cards from future sight that you may need for your deck for Regionals.

It's going to be this Sunday with sign ups at noon. For more information go to the website (linked at the top of the page) for contact information.

8:38PM - Hey everyone!

There really isn't much info on Regionals this yet. Well, I'm talking about the decks to be expected, etc. I have a friend who wanted to play dragonstorm but he is having issues with the deck (mainly it can't handle persecute, I think). Regionals is only 3 weeks away.

We are setting up some play testing time for this Saturday I think. I'll find out more info on that but I think it'll be at the Tower on Hwy 120 in Lawrenceville. Andrew has a great lil' shop so if you haven't seen it, you really should go by. It's very cool. Also if you're into comics, he carries some good ones.

Also, the WarRoom is always available for anyone who wants to play test for a tournament. The MTG room is in the back of the store and it's a private room from the rest of the store, so please check that out as well. If anyone wants to do some play testing on a Sunday afternoon, let me know. I'm free and willing to help anyone. My deck is going to be the green/blue scryb (?) force deck. (once it is complete anyhow)

PEACE!

1:43PM - Two Headed Giants! OH MY!

The one in FNM who was looking for a two headed giant partner was not in last night, so no luck finding a partner there. I tried. Hopefully a partner was found.

My husband is helping me with a deck for Regionals! Yep! I'm going to be playing in my first major tournament. I'm so excited!

10:02AM - 2 Headed-Giant Partner needed for this Saturday

akcarcer wants to come up to Atlanta for the Two-Headed Giant Pro Tour Qualifier this Saturday. I've already partnered with robogriff, or I'd go with akcarcer. He's a great deck builder and player. If you'd like to play in the Pro Tour Qualifier,  akcarcer would be a good partner to guide you through the match. With him as your partner, You might even win a trip to San Diego.

8:53AM - Friday Night Magic

I played the mono-green Scryb Ranger deck again last night and didn't do too badly with it. I ended up 2/2 for the night making 4th place. Not too shabby.

I can't wait until the sealed deck tournament. I'll have to double check on the date again, but I think it is May 6th. The tournament will be held at the WarRoom in Duluth and will be $20. There will giveaways and prizes as well as discounts on MTG merchandise. Single cards will be 10% off and sealed product like decks and booster packs are %20 off that day.

I'll also have to check on sanctioning status of the event. The past two that we had could not be sanctioned by WOTC due to a glich with some past events run by the prior MTG judge at the WarRoom. As far as I know all of that has been fixed and there should be no issue with getting such events fully sanctioned now. I'll let you know by Monday.

2:52PM - Created a user pic

LOL! I'd like to get the other mana symbols on this community so people can use as they like.

Anyhow, now to business: How is the pre-release going??? I couldn't make it to this one, so I'm planning on the next pre-release. I did pretty good at the last sealed tourny I did in the WarRoom as I'm getting better on building a deck in sealed type 2 format. I'd like to try limited at some point and I hope to get better at building a deck for FNM. I think I'm not as good because the boys have such a card pool and I end up putting cards in my deck I don't need as much as other cards. Being pretty new to the game still, I'm not always aware that there might be another card that either does the same thing for less mana or is more effective. I'm currently trying to work on a black/green deck. I played black/green/white in the last sealed event and I loved it. I think I'm better with 2 colors if I'm not playing sealed.

Any ideas on what I could use. I know Funeral Charm, Angel of Dispare, Scryb Ranger are going in there and a few other notes on cards I made but I don't have the notes with me.

Does anyone know much it costs to play magic on line? I think it might be a good way to hone my skills. Playing just once a week or less isn't really helping me. What's your favorite MTG online play site?

12:33PM - ZOMGBBQ!!!

Guess what this geek got in the mail for the first time today!!??!@@

Yep! I got my very first MTG Player Rewards. In it was 2 (count 'em....2!) Psionic Blasts! OMGSQUEEEEE! Textless Lightening Helix (We actually have quite a few in our card pool and I know Jeremiah really needs some in his deck he is currently running), a Disenchant, and a Zombify. Damn, is it my birthday or something?

My husband thinks I did play in enough tournaments to have earned the foil Wrath of God so he is looking into it. hehehehehe I'm a happy camper.

4:40PM - Sealed deck tournament progress report

The sealed deck tournament is going great today. clayfoot came from out of town to join us with a friend. (She is on LJ as well, but I didn't get her username.)

We got enough of a turnout to give away the foil Acroma and I may have built my best deck yet. It's white/green/black. I'm running Dread Return, Enslave, Aven Riftwatcher, Cradle to the Grave, Havenwood Wurm, Vampiric Link, Scryb Ranger, Ication Crier and a Clockwork Hydra just for starters. I've got the blue/black storage land and a lotus bloom for mana fixers along with the Evolution Charm and a Greenseeker.

I'm currently 2&1. I actually beat brazen66 in 2 games! Whoooooohooooo! Every sealed or draft I've ever played in I have never won a match because I really am not that good at deck building. I have to say I'm getting better. I'm so proud of this deck. I hope to win the last round. I'm not sure I can beat either lenny77 or sharlin though. I think I have a good chance against a few other folks that are left.

clayfoot beat me in round one. *frowns* I really didn't expect to win any of the matches though, so I've had a great day.

Next month we'll have another sealed deck tourney and details are forthcoming.

Also, I'm waiting for details on the release tournament for Future Sight will be May 6th. This will be sanctioned and will be $25 per WOTC. However the sealed deck in April will remain only $20.

Round 4 will begin any minute. So back to MTG.
